The 2027 Africa Energy Indaba is pleased to announce that João Baptista Borges, Angola’s Minister of Energy and Water, will be a speaker at the 19th edition of the conference, taking place from 2–4 March 2027 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) in Cape Town, South Africa.

Held under the theme “African Energy – Pathways to Prosperity: Connectedness and Cooperation,” the Africa Energy Indaba will bring together government leaders, policymakers, investors, energy companies and industry experts to address the opportunities and challenges shaping Africa’s energy landscape.

Minister Borges’ participation will contribute to high-level discussions on the continent’s energy priorities, including strengthening regional cooperation, accelerating infrastructure development, attracting investment and expanding access to reliable and affordable energy.

As an important participant in Africa’s energy sector, Angola has a role to play in advancing regional energy cooperation and unlocking opportunities across the continent. The country’s involvement in the Africa Energy Indaba provides a platform to explore how collaboration between African nations can support energy security, facilitate electricity trade and drive sustainable economic development.

Liz Hart, Managing Director of the Africa Energy Indaba, said:

“Africa’s energy future depends on our ability to work together, connect our resources and infrastructure, and create an environment that attracts investment. The participation of Minister João Baptista Borges underscores the importance of bringing African leadership together to address shared challenges and unlock new opportunities across the energy value chain. Through the Africa Energy Indaba, we aim to facilitate the partnerships and practical conversations needed to accelerate energy development and support the continent’s economic growth.”

With energy access, infrastructure investment and security remaining critical priorities across Africa, collaboration between governments, utilities, development finance institutions and the private sector will be essential to building a more connected and resilient energy system.

The 2027 Africa Energy Indaba will provide a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, develop strategic partnerships and explore practical solutions across key areas, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, regional electricity markets and energy financing.

The conference is expected to attract delegates from across Africa and the international energy community, reinforcing its position as a platform for advancing dialogue, investment and cooperation in the continent’s energy sector.

Industry stakeholders, policymakers and energy professionals are invited to participate in the 2027 Africa Energy Indaba and contribute to shaping Africa’s energy future.
